ASEAN - India CEO Business Outlook Forum 2012
ASEAN - India CEO Business Outlook Forum 2012 (18 Jan 2012)
The global economy in 2011 had witnessed several major crises which has become more uncertain and jittery as we move into a new year – 2012. Japan was thrown into a recession after being rattled by an earthquake and tsunami. The credit rating of the world’s largest economy – the United States of America has been downgraded from AAA to AA+. Europe is now in the midst of an unprecedented deepening debt crisis of which the latest unnerving development is the possible downgrading of France’s credit rating. Amidst these unsettling developments impairing the global economy in the developed economies, the markets of Southeast Asia and South Asia remain relatively unscathed. Economists are now placing their hopes of a stable global economy in 2012 in the continuing growth of China, India and Southeast Asia. How will the developing economies of Asia especially in Southeast Asia and its nexus with India perform in 2012 and how will Singapore businesses be affected?
As the topic centres on the economic prospects of the Southeast Asian nations and India, SBF has kindly invited Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Commercial Counsellors from India and the Southeast Asian countries to attend this event.
